tourists and devotees all through the year.
Another very famous temple is the Guruvayoor
temple whose main deity is Lord Sree Krishna in
his youthful form. Its eastern nada is the main
entrance. There is a 7 meters high Deepasthambham
which has 13 circular receptacles and it looks
amazing when lit completely. The other deities in
the temple are Ganapathy, Sree Ayyappa and
Edathedathu Kavil Bhagavathy. The temple is known
to heal various difficult physical ailments.
Exquisite mural paintings and carvings are inlaid
on the walls of the sanctum sanctorum. Lot of
people come to catch a glimpse of the Nirmalya
Darshanam celebrated in the pre-dawn hours i.e.
about 3 am. |
