Vaduz: A town of 5,000 people, Vaduz is home to the prince and his small but excellent art collection, which is open to the public; as well, since the country is known for its distinctive stamps, its Postage Stamp Museum is found here.

Malbun: Malbun offers some great Alpine downhill skiing, and is surrounded by some of Liechtenstein's best resorts. Both beginners and advanced skiers will enjoy the region, and for the rank amateur, there are a few ski schools here as well.



Spend Your Euros: Although the Swiss Franc is the official currency, the euro is accepted and circulates informally.
Conservative: The right to vote was given to women in 1984, and some oldliners still prevail in their views. Also, treat acquaintances with courtesy until you are sure you are on friendly terms and understood.
When To Visit: August 15th is Liechtenstein's national holiday, and celebrations can include parades during the day and fireworks in the evening.
Food: The food is distinctly Germanic, and cheese dumplings are the national specialty.
